The works on the extension of tramline 9, designed by SumProject, will start on February 18. The first phase was inaugurated in September by our King Philippe. The new extension connects the current terminus 'Arbre Ballon / Dikke Beuk' with the metro station 'Roi Baudouin / Koning Boudewijn'.

The extension is 1.5 kilometres long and will be completely separated from the car traffic. More than 100 new trees will be added along the green trajectory. The construction of this phase will take about two years.
